“WINE IN STYLE” TO MAKE DEBUT AT WESTFIELD HORTON PLAZA IN DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO

New Wine Tasting Series Features San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival Wineries Pouring Signature Wines on September 24 and October 22, 2009

San Diego, CA (August 31, 2009) –The producers of the 6th Annual San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival (November 18-22) have teamed up with Westfield Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego to launch promotional wine tasting events featuring wineries taking part in the upcoming Festival. The wine tasting series, aptly named “Wine in Style,” will feature sample flights of signature wine from some of the Festival’s award-winning wineries, said Michelle Metter, the Festival’s co-producer.

“These mini wine tastings give San Diego shoppers and wine lovers the chance to taste exclusive wines from some of the Festival’s renowned wineries in one of Downtown’s stylish outdoor shopping venues,” added Metter. “Downtown San Diego is a mecca for great food and excellent wine, and Horton Plaza is the perfect location to give wine enthusiasts and future Festival goers a small sample of the complete Festival experience.”

The first tasting showcases wines poured by Cuvaison Estate Wines, in celebration of their nationwide Cork Recycling Program in partnership with the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival. In honor of the program, attendees are encouraged to bring natural wine corks to the tasting, where they will then be entered to win prizes including tickets to the Festival, Westfield shopping certificates, and much more.

Since 1969, Cuvaison Estate Wines has been hand-crafting classic and elegant Napa Valley wines. Their estate grown wines capture the uniqueness of their Carneros and Mount Veeder estate vineyards and reflect the finest attributes of each vintage. From vine to bottle to the individuals who make up the Cuvaison team, Cuvaison does its best to maximize their sustainability efforts in order to minimize the impact on the environment.

The tastings also include mouth-watering appetizers, live music, and live modeling and fashion presentations by Horton Plaza retailers.

“Wine in Style” will be held on September 24 and October 22, 2009 at Horton Plaza from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door and include four tastings of Cuvaison Estate Wines (September 24) and appetizers.
