When he’s not in the vineyard, Alan is often seen in the cellar moving barrels, in the garden maintaining the grounds, in the tasting room hosting tours and tastings, in the lab assisting with blending, or in town visiting local restaurants. As Delia’s second to oldest son, he is only 25 years old and is looking
forward to many future years in the family.
Mariela Viader: Mariela was born Mariela de la Cerda, in Guatemala February 24, 1984. She grew up most of her life in Guatemala under the care of her loving parents Alfonso and Elia. Mariela has always shown a passion for cooking, so she moved to Portland, OR to enroll in the Western Culinary Institute. After finishing her studies she decided to follow her dream of being a chef and moved to the Napa Valley where she worked at Bouchon, Terra and Redd restaurants. Proving herself as a talented chef she was given an opportunity to help test and develop recipes for a number of cookbooks. She decided to leave the restaurant world to pursue a career as a private chef finding herself cooking events all over the Napa Valley.
Mariela met Alan Viader in July, 2004 and they were married July 8, 2006. She now has the opportunity of preparing all the events at the Viader estate as their executive chef.
