AIWF Scholarships The American Institute of Wine & Food (AIWF) is a non-profit educational organization founded on the premise that gastronomy is essential to the quality of human existence. The AIWF is dedicated to promoting health and well-being through the enjoyment of good food and drink and the fellowship that comes from dining together around the table. The AIWF was founded as a 501(c)(3) educational organization. It was established in 1981 by Robert Mondavi, the late Julia Child and others to promote a forum for the study and enjoyment of gastronomy. The San Diego Chapter of The American Institute of Wine & Food will award scholarships for the pursuit of culinary arts and enology/viticulture in full time or continuing education programs. The amounts will range from $1,000 to $5,000 and may be used for study within or outside of San Diego County. Applications will be accepted until September 25, 2009. The scholarship(s) will be awarded on or about November 15, 2009 to be used during the coming year at the accredited school, college or university you specify on the application. The scholarship award is not transferable without the written permission of the Scholarship Committee, which permission may be denied at the total discretion of the Committee. Scholarship awards fund tuition or other school fees and will be paid directly to the school.
