San Diego, August 9, 2011 –  When the rest of the county cools down this fall, travel to San Diego heats up as one of the nation’s largest epicurean experiences takes the spotlight.  Nationally acclaimed celebrity chefs, legendary winemakers, 70 of San Diego’s trendsetting chefs and top dining restaurants converge in America’s Finest City for the 8th Annual San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival.  Taking place November 16-20, the weeklong culinary classic offers several Wine Weekend Getaway and VIP packages for those looking to turn their experience into an extended culinary vacation, with stays at one of San Diego’s distinguished hotels.

San Diego's hottest hotels have partnered with the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival to offer hotel and travel packages to ensure a perfectly relaxed and enjoyable experience.  With a dozen hotels participating, rates and packages are available at a variety of price ranges while supplies last, and include savings on Festival tickets and choice of participating hotel.  Packages include tickets and hotel stay with access to a range of events, including tickets to the elegant Reserve Tasting, cooking classes taught by celebrity chefs, wine-tasting classes led by sommeliers and industry experts, a Celebrity Chef Luncheon prepared by five of today’s nationally acclaimed chefs, and the Grand Tasting, where 170 wineries, craft breweries and spirit companies, and 70 of San Diego’s top dining restaurants converge on the Embarcadero for the largest wine and food festival in Southern California.

Wine Weekend “Grape Escape” Package – San Diego: Save 23%
With packages starting at $602, this package includes (2) tickets to the Reserve Tasting & Silent Auction, (2) tickets to the Grand Tasting, and (2) nights at your choice of participating hotel.  This equates to a savings of $100 versus purchasing the packaged items separately.

Wine Weekend VIP Treatment Package – San Diego: Save 36%
With VIP packages starting at $1,168, this package includes (2) tickets to the Reserve Tasting, (2) VIP passes to the Grand Tasting, (4) Wine Tasting and/or Cooking Class tickets of choice, (2) tickets to the Celebrity Chef Luncheon, (2) Festival VIP gift bags with posters, Collector’s Festival wine waiting “en suite,” VIP lanyards granting special access to early Grand Tasting admission, exclusive access to the VIP tent during the Grand Tasting, and (2) nights in choice of participating hotel.  This equates to a savings of $500 versus purchasing the packaged items separately.
