SAN DIEGO BAY WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF TICKET SALES FOR 8TH ANNUAL CLASSIC
Southern California’s Largest Wine & Food Festival Returns November 16-20, 2011
San Diego, June 16, 2011 – The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival announces tickets now on sale for the 8th annual event taking place November 16-20. Wine and food aficionados from across the county visit San Diego to take part in the weeklong culinary classic that has become an iconic fixture in the epicurean landscape. The food and wine festival features over 800 different wines from award-winning wineries, 70 of San Diego’s trendsetting chefs and restaurants, 30 gourmet food companies, and the nation’s most prestigious celebrity chefs and culinary personalities, said Michelle Metter, the Festival’s co-producer.
"For eight years we have created an experience in Southern California that puts wine and food enthusiasts face-to-face with true culinary legends, rockstars in fact to many of us," added Metter. "Throughout the year we follow the trends, the winemakers and chefs, sommeliers and mixologists, spirit purveyors and brewmasters who are trailblazing a path filled with innovation, creativity and soul, bringing many of them to San Diego during the Festival. Our line up this year is no exception and we are honored to host the industry's best and brightest in San Diego for foodies across the country to enjoy."
By combing an A-list line-up of celebrity chefs and culinary personalities from across the nation, cooking classes highlighting the latest culinary trends, and wine pairing dinners featuring collaborations with the city’s top culinary innovators, the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival gives attendees first hand access to all the action.
While the Festival officially kicks off on November 16, new dates have been added with exciting culinary excursions to Rancho La Puerta on November 12. The Festival continues through November 20 and culminates with the Wine Spectator Celebrity Chef Luncheon & Big Bottle Auction, which features nationally acclaimed superstars such as chef, restaurateur and author Gale Gand.
Throughout the week gourmands can select from a number of events and packages with an action packed schedule that includes celebrity chef cooking classes, wine tasting seminars, WineRave 2011, an elegant Reserve & New Release Tasting, the Grand Tasting Event, $50,000 “Chef of the Fest” Competition, the Wine Spectator Celebrity Chef Luncheon & Big Bottle Auction, and much more.

The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival donates to The American Institute of Wine & Food (AIWF) and proceeds from the Festival’s live and silent auctions benefit the AIWF’s culinary and enology scholarship program for students and professionals in San Diego. The Festival has raised over $180,000 for scholarships to date.
