SAN DIEGO BAY WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES HIGH PROFILE LINE-UP OF CHEFS TEAMING UP FOR NEW TASTEMAKER DINNER SERIES

San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival’s Tastemaker Dinner Series Brings Together Nationally Acclaimed Chefs From All Over Country To Work With Local Culinary Trendsetters

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 08, 2010) – The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival announces line-up of chefs for the Tastemaker Dinner Series, a new feature of the food and wine festival’s multi-faceted weeklong event.  The Tastemaker Dinner Series, taking place on Wednesday, November 17 and Thursday, November 18, brings together culinary masters from all over the country, San Diego’s top chefs, and legendary wineries to create the ultimate food and wine pairing experiences, said Michelle Metter, co-producer of the Festival.

“We’re very excited to launch this year’s Tastemaker Dinner Series.  We have a fantastic line-up of national talent flying in for this year’s new event, in addition to some of San Diego’s finest chefs,” said Metter.  “The dinner series is an epicurean’s dream come true.  The chefs collaborate in the kitchen to design a one-of-a-kind menu that blends together each chef’s unique cooking style, giving attendees the rare privilege of enjoying the talents of two highly skilled chefs.”

The prestigious list of participating chefs include Chef Patrice Olivon of L’Academie de Cuisine, Chef Fabrice Hardel of Le Fontainebleau, Chef Deborah Scott and Chef Mike Suttles of Island Prime, Chef Kim Canteenwalla of Society Café Encore, Chef Suzette Gresham of Acquerello, Chef William Bradley of Addison, “The Chef in The Hat” Thierry Rautureau of Rovers, Chef Paul McCabe of KITCHEN 1540, Chef Billy Strynkowski of Cooking Light Magazine, and Chef Scotty Wagner of ChileCo Bistro & Catering and Eden Nightclub.

The dinner series takes place at various locations around San Diego, with the local chefs hosting the dinners at their respective restaurants.  Each dinner is designed around a multi-course menu, anywhere from five to seven courses, and every course is expertly paired with wines from a participating wine sponsor.  A portion of the proceeds from the dinners benefits different charities in San Diego, hand-selected by the chefs.  To purchase tickets, reservations must be made with the individual restaurants.  Ticket prices vary by location.
