SAN DIEGO BAY WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL RANKS AMONG TOP 100 EVENTS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BY BIZBASH MAGAZINE
San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival is Ranked Number Three for Top Food, Wine & Hospitality Events in Southern California
SAN DIEGO (September 1, 2010) – The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival once again makes the list of BizBash Magazine’s “Top 100 Events” in Southern California for the fourth year in a row. The Festival climbed one spot up from last year, ranking in as the third best in the “Food, Wine & Hospitality Events” category. As the Festival enters into it’s seventh year, it continues to establish itself as a key player in the wine and food industry, and this prestigious ranking acknowledges the Festival’s commitment to be one of the best wine and food experiences in the country, said Michelle Metter, co-producer of The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival.
“BizBash Magazine is a nationally respected publication for meeting and event professionals, and we are honored to once again be awarded a spot among their list of Southern California’s top events,” said Metter. “This ranking is a testament to all the hard work that goes into making the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival a continued success year after year.”
In the article, Bizbash writer Alesandra Dubin states that “Southern California plays host not just to an array of celebrity-driven entertainment industry events, but to big-time festivals, trade shows, and sports programming, too. … Our annual picks for the region’s top events … bring [about] big crowds, media attention, donors, and players in their respective fields.”
Last year’s San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival boasted upwards of 10,000 tastemakers during the weeklong schedule of festivities. The event features over 800 wines and spirits, 70 of San Diego’s top award-winning fine dining restaurants, celebrity chefs, wine tasting seminars, cooking classes, celebrity cookbook signings, live and silent auctions, an elegant Reserve & New Release Tasting, an unforgettable Grand Tasting at the Embarcadero Bay Park and a star-studded Celebrity Chef Luncheon.
“The Festival continues to grow each year, offering attendees a fresh look at the food and wine scene from an insider’s point-of-view,” said Metter. “This year we are launching the Tastemakers Dinner Series, where local San Diego chefs partner with celebrity culinary all-stars and legendary winemakers to create the ultimate pairing experience. The new feature gives fans more of their favorites, while putting the spotlight on talented local chefs and identifying San Diego as a leading culinary destination.”
