Peter DeCarl Originally from the North Shore of Chicago, Moon Valley Country Club Executive Chef Peter DeCarl unknowingly began his culinary career helping out at local restaurants in Rome, Italy at a tender age of twelve. His parents had moved over seas in 1971 and lived in Rome for almost 9 years. After moving back to the states, Chef DeCarl finished up his education and made a decision that would forever change his life. Remembering his childhood memories of the restaurants that he helped out in, Chef Peter decided it was time to cook. Working throughout the Chicago land's top restaurants Chef DeCarl went out on his own in 1991; opening an eclectic restaurant in Lake Forest, Illinois. Rigoletto restaurant was an immediate success, award winning, and a highly acclaimed work of art. Rigoletto served Chicago's celebrities, professional sports figures, TV personalities, movie producers and world renowned musicians. With one successful restaurant, Chef DeCarl decided to open a second location in Lincoln Park, Illinois. "Rigoletto Two" was geared more toward the exciting night life of Chicago. Chef DeCarl ran his restaurants for twelve years and one day decided to sell off and move to Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife Susanna and two daughters Samantha and Stefani. Chef DeCarl arrived in Arizona in 2001 and worked as Corporate Executive Chef for Tomaso`s restaurant group. After a short stint with Tomaso`s, four diamond Scottsdale Hilton Resort and a few other well-known restaurants throughout the valley, Chef DeCarl could not find the right fit. The right fit was found with Troon Golf Management at Ocotillo Golf Resort as the Executive Chef in 2005 to 2008 and now Moon Valley Country Club |
